How to use Dead pixel test

Check your display for bright or dark dots on solid white, black, red, green and blue screens.

  1. Select Start fullscreen. The preview does not keep the screen awake.
  2. Switch between white, black, red, green and blue with Previous/Next, the color selector, or the left/right arrow keys while the canvas has focus.
  3. Inspect different parts of the screen for dots that stay bright or dark across colors. This tool does not repair pixels.
  4. With controls hidden, swipe left for the next color or right for the previous color. A short tap shows the controls again.
  5. Hide the controls to see the whole pattern. Tap the screen to restore them, then select Finish to exit.

Inspect each solid color for dots that stay bright, dark or a different color. Use full screen and hide the controls to see more of the display. This is a visual check, not an automatic diagnosis or pixel repair.
